Too Busy To Read This? The Secret To Having More Hours In Your Day.

“Time isn’t something you find. It’s something you create.”

– LifeStreams360

Be honest—how many times have you said “I just don’t have enough hours in the day” this week? Between emails, errands, kids, work, laundry that somehow multiplies like rabbits, and that half-written grocery list you keep forgetting in the car, it can feel like life is one big race… and you’re always a few laps behind.

It’s exhausting, isn’t it? The more you try to do it all, the less time you actually feel like you have, but here’s a little secret: time management isn’t about cramming more in. It’s about creating more space.

Somewhere along the way, we were sold the idea that being “busy” equals being successful. That if you’re not juggling a million things at once, you’re somehow behind, but busyness and productivity aren’t the same thing.

Let's think about it for a moment: you can spend an entire day answering emails, scrolling Instagram, and reorganizing your spice rack, and still feel like you accomplished nothing meaningful. (Yes, alphabetizing cinnamon and cumin is satisfying… but does it get you closer to the life you really want?)

Time management is less about “managing time” and more about managing energy and intention, because you’ll never magically find more hours. You can, however, decide how to spend the ones you already have. You don’t have to do it perfectly. In fact, the science shows us that small, consistent steps make the biggest difference over time.

Here are three gentle but powerful ways to start creating more space in your day:

  • Name your “One Thing.”
Instead of tackling 27 tasks, ask: What’s the one thing that would make me feel proud if I got it done today? Write it down. Circle it. Protect it. If you finish more, great! But even if you don’t, you’ve already won.

  • Use the 10-Minute Rule.
Got something you’ve been putting off? Tell yourself you’ll just do it for 10 minutes. (Spoiler: once you start, you’ll often keep going. If not, hey—you still did 10 minutes. Progress!)

  • Schedule your joy first.
Did you know that when people schedule enjoyable activities first—whether it’s a walk, a book, or a coffee with a friend—they’re actually more productive with their “serious” tasks later? Fun fuels focus. So yes, put “dance in the kitchen for 3 minutes” on your calendar.

If your days have felt rushed, cluttered, or like you’re constantly playing catch-up, I want you to remember something: it’s not because you’re failing—it’s because you’re human.

Time management isn’t about squeezing yourself into a tighter box. It’s about giving yourself permission to create a rhythm that works for you. A flow that honors your energy, your priorities, and your life.

Here’s your gentle reminder: You don’t have to do it all. You don’t even have to want to do it all. You just have to decide what matters most today, and give yourself the grace to let the rest wait.

Peace isn’t found in the hours you don’t have—it’s created in the moments you choose.

Did you know?

  • Did you know… multitasking makes you up to 40% less productive? (So no, watching Netflix while answering emails probably isn’t your secret weapon.)

  • Did you know… writing things down frees up mental space? Your brain is for creating ideas, not for being a messy storage closet. 🧠

  • Did you know… most people underestimate how long tasks will take by nearly 50%? No wonder we’re always shocked when “a quick email” somehow eats an hour.
